Mixed Species Exhibit

tsusnakeguy Jan 26, 2009 07:54 PM

Ok before any attacks me for asking this just realize its for an exhibit not my home. I want to know if anyone thinks there would be a problem with housing Giant Madagascan Hognose snakes with Madagascan Tree Boas. If so I would like to know what the problems would be.
Thank you

I'm not familiar with Mad' Hog's and their dietary preferences or dispositions. However if they are relatively placid snakes, then the following should apply.
My Sanzinia tend to spend lots of time on the ground, so there may be some competition for hiding spots. My opinion is that if you keep a close eye on them, making sure that both have access to heat, water, food and hides and aren't overly dominated by the other snake, it will probably be fine.

I would have a spare cage at the ready to transfer one of the snakes into if you notice any issues.
