Hi have three Candoia bibroni bibroni, Fiji Boas, but these seem closely related to australis. They change colour all the time, although they used to do it faster when they were very small.

In particular they seem to alter depending on the background I have them on. When I kept them in a glass tank on bleached out drift wood, they tended to be pale, one preferred normal brown/pink, one was usually silver/grey and the other preferred pale pink, but they could all be brown when they felt like it.

Now I have them in a darker enclosure with darker wood, they are usually all brown, and the one who used to like being pink tends to be a really dark brown. however, if I handle them for more than about 30 minutes, they will all change to light brown.

I'm thinking of trying a tartan tank next....

Maybe he's trying to impress the others? ^_^ lol
Can you house them together without them nipping at each other?

i know most candoia don't eat that but once every 2 or 3 week but my first male he is pounding down food once a week its amazing when i first got him it was about 3 weeks before he ate and the only way he ate was i pulled him out his tank and dropped in a hopper and when i put him back in you could tell right off the bat that he knew somthing wasn't right and he went on the hunt now i do it once a week pull him out drop in a hopper and hold him for a while them put him back a bam hopper gone

I had two from the same litter, which have always lived together. I later added another young one, slightly smaller, and they all get on fine, on top of each other half the time even though there are multiple hides in the tank.

So no problems keeping three in a tank at any rate.
