New tokay, eating issues

kestrien Feb 03, 2009 11:44 AM

Hi all,

Recently adopted a tokay from a local herp rescue. Never had tokays before (many leopard geckos though). Was eating pinkies before, have offered pinkies, crickets & mealies.

Here's the question: While the pinkies don't entirely disappear, they look munched on (half a pinkie or so left). Could the crickets be responsible, or is the gecko just munching bits & pieces? Want to make sure she's eating. Pic attached!

as long as it's eating the crickets and mealies i wouldnt worrie to mutch tokays are verry hardy.if it's not savagly feeding on the pinkies give it time to adjust. When i feed mine pinkies I give them 1-2 days off,or a fast if you will from the bugs and they waste no time taking 2 each.I have also found the they do better when fed pinkies at or about sun down or just after dark.
hope this helps.
