You said..."hes now not eating its been 5 days since he got here not moving around much eyes remain closed"...what brand and type (compact or long linear tube)of UVB are you using?

You said..."temp is right"...what is the basking temperature?

You said..."he hasent layed any stool since 2 to 3 days ago it was real watery but stull was stiff"...was there a brown sausage-like part and a white part? Do you have a substrate in the cage?

Oops! Hit post too soon!

Has he been tested for parasites?

Did he have a substrate where you got him from? What bulb did he have there?

Ironmaiden64 Feb 07, 2009 02:53 AM

the bulb is a 10.0 uvb 13 watts by repti glow basking is 90 yes there was brown stuff 80 degrees in the day 74 at night
i put him right in the basking area and he started streching out im using calcium dust for his food but hes not eating he moved a little bit further away from his basking spot and is sleeping now 353 am

10.0 uvb bulb. that is high output. should be 5.0. is this one of those coil lites or a tube cause the coil lites have been damaging to eyes!

What's the cage humidity level? A dehydrated cham won't eat either. How old is this cham? Where did you get it? How often are you dusting with calcium? If he's a juvenile or an adult don't dust with calcium every day...too much. If he's a hatchling dust LIGHTLY each day. Vitamin dusts about once a week. For an adult, vitamin dust once a month. What are you gutloading your feeder insects with? Gutloading well is very important and safer than relying on a bunch of dusts.
