resims Feb 08, 2009 08:07 PM

Hey all, I consider myself a fairly experienced Iguana owner but am unshure about a lighting issue that I have.I just replaced my UVB light and realized that its a 10.0 UVB rating for desert reptiles.I dont know if it will suit my ig knowing that its tropical.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks

thanks, just makin shure things A OK.I got two igs around july last summer, maybe like a month old at most at the time.they were the same size but Ziggy has growing like hes on some steriods.Hes about 7 inches from snout to vent and workin towards three feet and hes only about 8 to 9 months old.ive never seen a growth this rapid.guess im doing good with this one.i had to seperate the two cause ziggy has been showing some territorial signs being the Alpha Ig.Being that Ziggy is too young to tell if hes a male or not cause females can be just as territorial as the males.I dunno, just rambling on...

Young IGuanas grow incredibly fast as babies. They do OK as babies together, but once they hit about 6 months, they tend to start having the competition stage. I would suspect now that they are separated, you will see more growth from Amber.
