i have brought here 2 males, one is not interested cause i think he is gay, other one breed with here once.
after 2 day i brought him again and he was all polite and he did not want to breed any more...

I don't mean to offend...but why are you are you breeding them?

There are so many available iguanas and your questions sound like perhaps you are not quite experienced in the field.

Please, I do not mean to sound harsh or insulting, I was just honestly curious.

To be honest, I cant think of anyone who is breeding that can lend assistance. You might find some answers on Melissa Kaplans website, but I cant think of anyone to refer you to.

i am not offended.
i am breeding about 4-5 specis of reptiles and some T, i have read m. kaplan's site about 3-4 times. there is no information about captive iguana.also i have read ulitimate owners guide and some other books...there is no a single information about that.
i did not ask how to breed them cause i have breed them last year but with power shortage eggs gone bad!
there is some info in Iguanas of the World By Gordon M. Burghardt.it says: iguana can and r breeding sometimes with 3 different males...and many times in one season. but this is for wild ones i am interested in experience of CB.

REASON :i need to breed my case i leave in Serbia and have pair of iguana that is ONLY with CITES papers. so i want to have offspring with papers...iguana is still rear in serbia.

thanks

Zarko,
contact Tom Crutchfield. He is breeding iguanas and is very helpful. He is in Florida. look for his ads in the classifieds or old posts here to contact him.

I was wondering if perhaps you were not in the US.

Here, green iguanas are so common and so poorly cared for that very, very few people breed them and breeding is discouraged.

Thanks for not being offended. I wasn't sure sure how to ask on the internet without coming across as just being insulting. That really wasn't my intention.

I agree that Tom Crutchfield would be your best bet for assistance.

Hello my g Iguana friend. You are doing grate and learning how to hatch Iguana eggs will help you in the future with many other reptiles. They are fantastic lizards to work with so dont let anyone talk you out of it.I bred them a lot in the 90s but had to compete with imports. You will do good with them there.Give me a shout when your about to get eggs.Theres a lot to know, especially the condishion of the female after the eggs.I've seen better looking dead Iguanas than one that just layed eggs. The eggs are hard to hatch. To wet...to bad..their history.A little to dry they start to cave BUT you get another chanch by increasing the humidity by putting some moist moss on top of them. They will puff back out and your on your way again without waiting another year. Two males will fight but you can put a mirror in the cage and he will have conbat with his reflection.Just do it a little at a time, and he will think he scared his rival away when you take it out.Good luck I wish you well owning the Iguana market all over your side of the world.
