Waterland tubs for a RES?

Reptile_Fan2002 Feb 13, 2009 07:01 PM

Hello, has anyone ever used those waterland tubs they sell online and in the reptile magazine for turtles? I seen the waterland tub site that sells them they say you could use them for about any reptile you can namee in it. I have had my 4 year old RES Turtle in a 4'x6'x 1.5 outdoor designed landscaped pond by me last summer he loved it alot but I brought him in about mid September so he wouldn't get too cold outside in the winter have him in a glass fish tank. I've heard of people using the rubbermaid livestock tanks for turtles before tho. let me know thanks.

I think these are very nice for smaller turtles. I, like
you, keep my turtles out in a protected pond in the summer
and bring them in to a 120 gallon aquaruim for winter.

I don't think they are very good for large turtles like
the RES and painted turtles who enjoy deeper water(with
a basking area of course). My RES is 8 years old and
about 3 lbs.

For one 4 year old turtle you could probably get
a few years use out of it.

Hope this helps
Linda
