Any one else excited about the breeding season right around the bend? I sure am, and the weather here has been amazing so far.

Oh, I'm getting ready. They should start moving here next month. We have Jefferson's and Spotteds in my part of town (along with Spring Peepers and Wood Frogs).

the tigers and smallmouths will be out in full force very soon, we had a couple of really mild rainy nights last week, i am sure a few sallies have already headed to the breeding ponds. but to date, i have only seen one smallmouth and one peeper while road cruising thus far.

Here in Ireland with its pausity of amphibians I wait for the 17th of Feb with bated breath. The frogs turned up on the due date and started spawning. I was out cruising last night to see the stragglers still on the wet roads. Mostly males.I'm going to England in april just to see the Bufo bufo spawning. I tell my old mother that I'm going to see her but she knows the truth. Then it's common newt time here and in England. hooray for Spring

Well, after going out almost every rain for the past month, I finally caught the first big migration. It was also my first one to witness as well. Such a great night! Especially because both of my cameras are not working. The cruddy camera phone was all I had...
