Energy Efficient Lighting

JennyA Feb 27, 2009 01:01 PM

Hello! I have a Green Iguana and Sulcata Tortoise which are currently being kept indoors due to cold weather. These guys use lots of electricity with their heat lamps, UV bulbs etc. I was wondering if anyone uses or knows of certain types of bulbs that are more energy efficient.

Thanks,
Jen

I recently asked this on the bearded dragon forum.

They say halogen bulbs are cheaper than incandescent, and cage design makes the biggest difference. If there is a screen lid or if the cage is open, obviously heat will escape.
