UROMASTYX TOE TROUBLE- Help!

ornate_uro Feb 28, 2009 11:00 AM

hello,

I've had my long-term captive CB baby ornate uromastyx for about 4-5 years now. He's still pretty small, but he has always been healthy. I've noticed this morning that he has a pretty large bubble that developed at the end of his toe. What is this? And what should I do? He's never had ANY problems and this is quite unusual.

I remember reading something about this way back when, when I was researching uros, but cant seem to find the info.

PLEASE HELP!

This isn't a commonly asked question (like "what's the white stuff on my uro's nose???", so there isn't going to be an easy answer we can give you. You should get him to a qualified herp vet to check it out.

If he's small, there could be an underlying health issue that might not be immediately obvious to you and may or may not be related to the toe. The vet can also help you figure that out.

hey,

thanks for the answer. I understand he should go to the vet in due time. But I can not take him immediately, and he shows no signs of sickness, being lethargic or lack of appetite. Im just wondering what kind of health issues cause something like this? I know you have a lot of experience el_toro, anything?

I'm sorry - I've got nothing. A picture might help, but no guarantees. I've never dealt with anything that would be described that way. Does it look swollen? Or more blister-like?
