What is a "Red Albino"??

jamesalternafan Mar 04, 2009 12:39 AM

Is it genetic? Does anyone know if it is codominant or recesive?
If I breed it to an albino what do I get?

I do not know if it is just the way an indivitual albino has colored up or if this is actually something of interest in breeding.

Also do the adults still keep the same color as "red albino" juveniles?

Any info is great. Or a picture of an adult would also be helpful.

Thanks
James

Red albino? Are you talking about cranwelli? They are all just albinos, some have more red than others. Recently there has been a bunch of these so called red morphs around with various names like flame phase, lava phase, and a whole host of other crap. Nothing more than a marketing ploy. Same species.

If I breed it to albinos I end up with all albinos not even hets or anything? What is a typical price range that the "red albinos" fall into?

No, might all be albinos, or only some of them will be.

Albino cranwelli are just albino cranwelli. They sell from 15-30 bucks, same as any other albinos. If you try to sell them for more as a marketing ploy, most real froggers will laugh at you. Albinos are just albinos.
