Question about breeding Dumeril's

talks2turtles Mar 09, 2009 08:48 AM

I have an established adult pair of Dumeril's and I recently introduced them after bringing the temp up a few degrees. The male is interested but the female is still non-responsive to him.

Should I separate and try again after another couple weeks or leave her in with him for a bit longer?

Thanks,
Cat

Unless the enclosure your female is in is too small, I suggest leaving them together all the time. Let them decide when they want to breed.

We can manipulate temps and light cycles all we want. But the snakes have the final say on if they are ready to breed.
