Getting a Fire Skink

I am getting a juvenille fire skink, and i need to know what is the best? substrate, how to i make a good basking spot?, is moss good? can i get a really shallow pot and grow a little plant inside of the tank? if yes, which is the best...pea...?
any other info is good!

I use organic potting soil with mine, and they love it. They are burrowers, so make sure you give them several inches of soil that they can completely bury themselves in. At one end, I just have a medium largish cave that they can hide in or bask on, and I have a lamp over the cave. They don't like it too hot, so the basking surface is around 90. Then you need a largish water bowl that they can get in to soak. Keep the soil moist in general, and a little more moist at the cool end.
