Salt sneezing?

azmiris Mar 27, 2009 07:45 PM

I got my first chuckwalla in December. He eats like a prizewinning hog and is very active and friendly. He sneezes very frequently and salt (or lizard snot) is building up on his head. I've read that this is common, but wanted to get more information. Do your chucks sneeze salt (or sneeze at all)? Thanks

Mine do it all the time, but i have never thought anything of it.

Yes, mine do it too and it seems like their favorite place to sneeze is on the glass front of their enclosures. I don't mind but my husband thinks it is disgusting.

I had a rescue spiny tail ig here for awhile, and after he went to his permanent home, I went to clean that tank, and it was obvious where the basking spot was! LOL! Good thing it cleans off easily.

Whew! Thanks everyone, it's nice to know that it really is a normal behavior. Time to go clean the glass.
