Is My Sulcata Lonely???

calbright83 Apr 08, 2009 02:42 AM

I currently only have the one tort and outside of my cat, T.U.T. (The Unnamed Tortoise) has no other "cage" mate (by cage, I mean approximately 8' by 4' enclosure in my dining room). Do you think she would benefit from having another tortoise housed with her? And besides another Sulcata, what are my options in suitable house mates?

Thank You,
Christina

I'm not a tortoise pro by any means, but I think the only one that would have the same environmental requirements would be a leopard. I have a baby sulcata with some baby desert tortoises in an outdoor pen, but they are close to the same size and the sulcata comes in at night. Sulacata are very territorial, especially males so be careful.
