Other anaconda species?

outcastexotics Apr 11, 2009 09:39 PM

I know there are a couple other species besides greens and yellows. Will we ever see them in captivity and does anyine have pics of them?

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later.

I don't know about them coming into the captive market. Keep in contact with any snake breeders you know in Bolivia.

As for information, here is Dirksen's translated page. It has probably the most information available on these two species.

There are not any deschauenseei or beniensis currently in the country that I am aware of. E. beniensis was just accepted about 10 years ago and apparently none of them have ever been imported into the U.S. The big problem is that the countries of origin of these Eunectes species do not allow exportation. The Dirksen site listed by SoLA is probably the best for info on beniensis, and the others as well. E. beniensis is the most interesting and radical of the Eunectes group and I would love to get my hands on a few.
