Green conda fails at eating

Robotchicken Apr 17, 2009 06:36 PM

i just got my new green about a week ago and decided to feed her a small rat last night. she striked at it at least 10 times, 6 of which she actually hit the rat...and she only tried to coil around it 3 times. she failed every time and today she doesnt seem remotely interested. any suggestions?

Give her a few weeks to settle in and acclimate to her new environment. Young greens are naturally nervous and shy, and the rat was probably causing a defensive reaction. If she won't take thawed or pre-killed, try a younger, less active rat to start, as it won't be as likely to generate a nervous reaction from her.
