Around Nov to Dec for first round and from April to June for round 2 for the more prolific Female !!

Very seldom you see 3 clutch per Female.

But I have a female who will triple clutch a season 1.5 - 2 months apart but nest wont exceed 12 eggs each !!

Cheers

I have never heard that.Is this emys emys, phayrei or both.Mine have only laid 1 clutch per year for 20 years. So thats a new one on me.They dont do it more than once in S Florida eather as far as I know and its more like your weather there.I guess being on the wrong side of the world can screw things up.They must go by rain seasons there. They always start after a hard rain for a few days after a long dry spell. How far out, learn something new even after 20 yrs.Two of mine, one CB in 95 laid 41 eggs and her mother laid 51 on the same day.(4-19)Very early this year with a short nesting time compaired with the normal long drawn out 2-6 wk.ordeal.These were phayrei,I have 4 more pairs to go.My emys emys normally lay in late Sept. I wonder if they will be early this year.

Wild emys follow a slightly different date to lay !! Like you say rainy season after a long dry spell !!

Try these books

- Turtles of Borneo and Peninsular Malaysia by Lim Boo Liat and Indraneil Das
- Turtle of the World by Carl H.Ernst and Roger W.Barbour With an early reference from another book The turtles of Thailand .........

My personal record is only 38 eggs for M.e.e.

But one of my new M.e.p.(23 inch ) should break that as she is much larger than my largest M.e.e (20 inch)

HOW FINE,I've only had one that color, most of mine are brown without that yellow on the carapace.Do you think there are any "small races" of emys emys.I saw a redish/rust colored all over, shell and skin, even toenails. He was very small but older than dirt. Thanks Vic.........pic of very light phayrei...typical brown in my collection
