Babies, Yeah!

pixie343 Apr 20, 2009 03:12 PM

My baby veiled chameleons have finally hatched after seven long months of incubation. Now I have 17 little ones running about, 9 girls and 8 boys. All are eating and drinking perfectly.

Get this, I went away for a week to go on a mission trip to Mississippi and when I returned they had hatched. I didn't even get to see one hatch. I am really happy I had everything ready for my sister who was taking care of them, just in case. They are so cute though.

I do have some questions though if anyone knows, I have one girl who has a brownish tint to her. I have seen her change color and it is just her normal color, but I was wondering if anyone had a baby like this before. I am not really worried about it I am actually curious what she will look like when see gets older. I tried to get a photo of her to post, but my camera sort of died.

They started to hatch on the 7th-10th of April,it is amazing how fast they grow in a few weeks. But how long should I wait on the ones who have not hatched yet?

Congrats on the babies!

Don't give up on an egg until it is obviously bad. Some of them can take more than a month extra to hatch.

The rest of them have hatched and now I have 12 boys and 12 girls, all of them look great and are eating and drinking as well.
