Saw this coachwhip in the field

Apalachicola National Forest, actually. I had just set camp and was walking around the lake and spotted him on a fallen tree.

I was able to get a bit closer for another pic that lets you see the Sceloporus feet and tail.

Any closer and the snake would flee, so I just sat and watched a few minutes.

That's pretty cool, it's not very often that you see a wild snake eating something. That one has a nice "unicolor" appearance to it, rather than having a dark head and neck.
