Needless to say most everyone at kingsnake is aware of this bill. I think it will particuarly tough on croc keepers simply because once banned there is little likelyhood of them passing an approval process like perhaps the leopard gecko will be able to in the future.

That being said if you haven't sent email and/or letters make calls.

I have officially sent faxes to every congressman and senator. Completed them tonight. I am finding that getting through the phones to the members of the subcommittee has been terribly hard the past two days. I am assuming other herpers are getting their shots in as well.

Remember always to be polite!

Last week when I was making calls I had one woman tell me to make sure to call my state reps.
I told her I was from TX and no one from TX was on the subcommittee. She said it doesn't matter if enough people call their state reps the state reps will in turn put pressure on the subco. I still think #1 priority is members of the subco. themselves.
If you have enough time, energy and patience then call your state reps. Obviously if you live in a state that has a member on the subco. call other reps. in your state to.
Personally I didn't waste my time on FL, HI, or Guam. You are not going to change their mind.
There are a lot of cold weather states on the subco.
While everyone stresses to be polite it seems okay to be argumenative. I had several lengthy and involved conversations.
Of course this was over a week ago hopefully they don't have time for that now.
The thing that annoys me the most is that this country is stuggling like it hasn't struggled in a very long time.
Leave it to FL,HI and a bunch of AR groups to try to sneak something through while the country is focused on bigger and more important issues. I for one find that underhanded and extremely unproductive.
