Viper gecko incubation question

aquick Apr 29, 2009 05:13 PM

Hello, I am looking to breed viper gecks and have read conflicting information on how to incubate the eggs--temps seem pretty universal (83-86 F) but humidity is all over the place--some say "dry", some say 30-50%, some say 30-60%, while yet others say 90%. What is the proper humidity level? DOes it matter as much with this species ?(given the large range I presume others have had success with) Any input to clear this up would be appreciated.

we used to own the arizona gecko co. back in the day. we were one of the first in the us at the time to have consisant captive breedings and hatching..we would always put the eggs in dry sand in a deli cup and put the deli cup into a 5 gallon tank with about 1" of water on the bottom, we used screen to elivate the eggs 7" off the bottom..I have published several documents as to the houseing, and breeding of vipers some are still in use today..vic
