He/She has been laying on the ground for the past 3 days.. The first day on the ground it still ate with no problems, but only temporarily went back on its perch and has been on the ground again. It is still very alert during the evening hours. It is about 3 years old and never had a eathing or shedding problems.
Just wondering what is going on.

First let me say that is one very nice looking chondro. It's fairly typical behavior for animals to go to and from the ground and perch. You may also want to check your heat source for correct temps. Often, animals will ground themselves to avoid excessive heat, but as I said, it could just be a chondro being a chondro.

Thank you for the reassurance. The temps are rigth around 86 in the high area and about 80 in his normal hang out area. I am guessing it is just a phase. Was just concerned since is the first time he or she has done this for more than just a few hours... its been about 5 days now..

My Sorong male suddenly decided to ground himself each day for about a week. No other signs of problems and he was out and crawling each night. He eventually went back to perching. They do what they do....and that's an awesome looking animal.
