Gravid Dipso! HELP, I think?

Rosebuds May 07, 2009 02:05 PM

So You all know that the lizard formerly known as Mauzi went into brumation and came out a boy, so I moved him in with the baby chucks. Then the lizard now known as Mauzi, a definite girl, started turning red on her sides and tail about two weeks ago. I thought she was turning out to be a red factor dipso, and could still be, but she is also VERY gravid! After dealing with three gravid collareds and two gravid beardies, I now know what gravid looks like, and she is gravid! I can see the definite outline of eggs in her sides. That precocious fertility fairly has been busy at Rosebud's House! lol

I will try to get pics later, but for now, I don't want anyone to see the GODAWFUL excuse for a nesting spot that I made for her! It is about as piecemeal as it gets! Any advice if she doesn't just flat lay today before I can do better would be most appreciated.

I thought I had already posted these, but I guess I forgot to hit the right button! Here is Mauzi from above

And here she is from the side. I had to darken this one, and you can almost see the red in her belly

So is she gravid? If so, at what temp do you incubate the eggs? Can I throw them in the hova with the collared eggs?

I don't have any experience breeding iggys but she looks gravid. She is very pretty too. I hope you have adorable hatchlings soon.

She is starting to get that frantic look! I sure hope she likes the pit!
