Racer egg incubation temps?

IdoTHATforME May 11, 2009 09:46 PM

Hi there,
I caught a 4 foot obviously gravid female black racer today... anybody got any suggestions on egg incubation temps? Would it be almost the same as ratsnake temps?
P.S. the racer is 4feet long with about a foot or more of the tail missing... short fat snake lol

I have successfully incubated Northern Black Racer eggs, at the same temps and humidity as any other colubrid (Kingsnakes, Milksnakes and ratsnakes). They do not require any additional heat, otherwise you'll get kinked spines. If only the babies were as easy to keep as the eggs are to hatch!

Good luck!
