ive have my little guy for about a month now, and i just noticed yesterday 5/13 about 3 small bumps that seem to be under the scale, if not the scale itself being elevated like it was "jammed" or something. im going to keep an eye on it but does anyone have any information/ should i take him to a vet?

ive taken him outside twice and only held him so i dont think its any external parasites, and i change his newspaper subtrate about 3 or 4 times a week at least. i dont know what it could be or what could be the cause/

These are typically only seen on very young greens and are usually caused by too much time in the water, or consistently damp cage conditions. Does this one spend too much time in a water bowl? If you keep the cage dry and only use a small water bowl that it cannot get into, these bumps will usually clear up without treatment with the next shed. As the green gets a little older, this issue is rarely a problem, even when using pools and moderately high humidity levels.

I have recently switched to a smaller water bowl even though i thought he wasnt able to squeeze into the one i had prior (i was wrong)so im going to assume that that was the cause of these little couple of bumps. Right now he is getting ready to shed so once that happens i will re-check him and then go from there. this being my first anaconda i think i may have overreacted a little to seeing this "trouble"

Would you find these bumps were you to put the anaconda in a naturalistic river setting? Just wondering if slow moving water would make the difference.

Thanks
Mike

He has shed and there is no sign of any of those bumps after a thorough inspection, so im going to attribute it to the preparation of the old skin coming off.
