I have the opportunity to buy a Mono Stripe Limburg albino Rosy (bred by Michael Goldbarg) and I am trying to find out if it is genetic or not. The seller is fairly sure but not certain. Does anyone know?
Thanx
Kevin

Not sure what you mean, if its genetic or not?
Like all albinism, the limburg albino is caused by a simple recessive mutation.
I believe Michael bred limburg albinos with the San Matias canyon mono-strip rosys.
He then bred those het babies to each other, which produced some boas that had the limburg albinism expressed, as well as the reduced lateral striping of the san matias mono-strips.
At least, that's how I think mike produced em. The only thing I know for sure is that they are REALLY cool looking.
Josh
Thank you. I was not sure if the mono stripe was simple recessive or if it was a non genetic random trait.
Kevin
good question, I'm not sure.
I'll ask around.
Josh
I've got one too.
From what I gathered from Mike Goldbarg, these came about independently from the San Matias mono-stripe.
I'd talk to him, though, to get it all straight.
