REPEAT PERFORMANCE

Once again an old friend asked me to breed and hatch some GPT'S for him and like last year I did. These are a nice Aru x Sorong. Last year I had a 100% hatch rate but this year not quite as good but still alright..Thanks for looking....

These are nippier than last year so hopefully won't be such a pain in the butt. The only reason I don't breed GTP'S is because of the babies being so time consuming. One clutch a year as a favor for a friend is enough for me....lol

Tom, congrats on another clutch. I'm not sure how you go about feeding trials, but most people tend to wait until after the first shed. I do not. I try to get a meal in them while they are still on the defensive. Seems like the first shed calms them down to the point where they just want to hide their heads. Start feeding trials soon. Good luck.

an old master told me...(Mr A.Z. )..babies..and feeding

use frozen thawed...better than live for chondros...
touch their neck with pink......
they'll grab it and eat....
worked for me....

he also told me feed them ,like, a pink a week...well...I didn't listen...I fed a pink every other day....they grew really nicely....

....good luck.......

Yup. Feed them....and they will grow. I've always fed babies every 3-5 days. Most of mine are on large adults by 10-12 months.

yep......I fed every other day...I mean it's a frozen thawed pink, how much volume is that?...and the baby chondros are actually fairly big babies (compare to corn or red milks...wow)...

...mine ...I let them copulate in like 2 years? to get to know each other, they were like 3 foot or so in a year,? they bred and she laid in just short of three years of age I think I remember, forget how many eggs?...17?....full term dead in eggs most of them, only one baby out....female was totally attacked by mites IN her nest box....I treated all the cage space and all but forget the nest box (spanish moss in it).....they attacked her badly, she came off nest after a couple weeks and was totally dehydrated, I would pull females from eggs if I ever bred them again........

I also popped my chondros ,I was told to never pop them young it will crush the tail, well, I wanted to know what I had before raising them for 3 years....so I popped at like maybe 6 months old ? I forget , maybe less, ...don't think I popped them as babies, ....(and I have small hands and don't crush snakes to begin with)
.

in case anyone wondered any of this.......GTP can be fun and fairly easy to raise and breed........

good luck all......
