Habitat question =]

Hi everyone, I am a new mom to a 2 ft long green baby. I plan to build her a nice big house, as soon as i can figure out how I can fit it into my apartment. But as for now I have a glass aquarium that is 1.5 ft wide and 3 ft long. I was wondering if it would be better for her to stand it up and let her climb the 3 ft in the air, or keep it so she has more room to walk around in.

My other concern was, if I do keep it standing tall is it ok for me to put the lights right on the glass (since the 'top' of the cage is mesh, thus making one if the sides mesh for her to climb on).

I also had a lighting question (sorry lol I just cant seem to find the answers). I have a 7% UVB light that I leave on for 12 hours, and a 100 wt 'zoo med nightlight red' bulb that I keep on for 24 hrs for heat. Is that alright, or should I be doing something else?

Thanks a TON!!

I would keep the aquarium flat. Being a 2ft lizard, she really needs more room than a 3ft cage. You might want to consider upgrading pretty soon.

If you tilt it on the side, then the glass filters out the UV. Also, the mesh can catch little toes and cause fractures.

Having the 7% Uv for 12hrs sounds good. I'm not as familiar with the red bulbs. I like to use a white light that brings the basking site up to 100-105 and turns off after 12 hrs. Then the nightime temps drop to 78. I just feel like this gives a more natural cycle.
