Shedding Problems

Milo25 May 31, 2009 07:11 PM

So my Dumerils has shed in pieces both times he has shed since I got him 3 months ago. I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm guessing it has to do with the humidity. I have tried soaking him, giving him a shed box and misting the tank daily. The tank is a gradient 80-85 F. I do have a hard time keeping the temp consistent. Any ideas on what I need to do to get a good shed next time? Thanks!

Mist the snake daily during shed if you have too.

But, you definitely have a humidity issue. 60% humidity is pretty much the max for Dums. BUT a little extra during shed won't hurt. I mist my Dums down once a day during shed, from the point I see their eyes "clouding" up, until they start shedding. And depending on if I see them sheddding, I may mist them while they are shedding.
