New and would like some info/advice

Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for some advice/info. I currently have one 2 yr old PacMan frog. He or she?? lives in a 5.5 gallon tank with coconut fiber, moss, fake plants, undertank heater, and fluorescent light. He/She is 2yrs old but quite small for its age. I acquired it from a friend who was feeding it only mealworms (mealworms weren't fed) and it had no lighting or heat. Needless to say I think it is stunted in growth and barely eats for me. I have to literally rub mealworms on it's lips and then put the worm in it's mouth for it to eat. Has anyone encountered this before? any advice? Also I have a probe thermometer and it says that my tank can be anywhere from 74 to 87. Is 87 too hot? When the temp is in the 80's the frog's eyes are closed and it won't move, when the temp is in the 70's the frog's eyes are open and it looks alert? Do they require Undertank heaters? Also, what in anyone's opinion is the best substrate to use? I use moss and coconut fiber but I see pictures where people use rocks, gravel and water? I know I'm asking alot but I just want to make things better for my frog. Thanks, and I hope to hear from someone

Moss, rocks, and gravel are all bad because they can cause an impaction if the frog accidentally swallows it. Cocofiber is the best substrate because it allows them to burrow and has a minimal risk of impaction.

The ideal temps are 85 during the day and around 80 at night. Make sure the humidity is right (70-80%). If the conditions are good let him go hungry for a while and see what happens when you try again.

10 gallons is best for an adult pacman.
