That should work fine. I'm keeping mine at 79-80. I've read range is 78-83 though. That's a lot of eggs. What species?

I have a northern black racer.. about 5 feet. yeah i was suprised by the large number of eggs. what kind do you got?

RainDrops Jun 07, 2009 02:52 PM

Yeah blacks get pretty big so larger clutches probably. I've got a buttermilk that laid 14. And the eggs are fairly large so it looked like a lot for the snake which is somewhere around 3.5 feet, maybe a little more.

Oh cool! you have some buttermilk eggs at the moment? Any idea of where i can get my hands on one of those?

RainDrops Jun 11, 2009 09:56 PM

If they hatch I might be selling some of them, but it depends on how many of them I get feeding. I'll just release any I don't get to feed fairly quickly since the parent was wild caught. These snakes generally aren't for sale too often from what I've seen but occasionally you can find them in classifieds.
