My First Basin(s)!!!!!

pdcreptiles Jun 05, 2009 01:27 PM

Been a few years since I kept an emerald and was really expecting to get into
them again anytime soon. But a great deal came up so I couldn't pass it up. I never really thought I would get a basin,
but now I got three amazing animals.

All the info as far as history of these animals is what I was told by the guy I got them from.

First up is an 06' male that originally came from Ed Marino. He unfortunately has a tiny bit of mouth rot, but going to pick up medicine for him today. He is also going
into shed so can't wait to see him after.

Next up is an 07' male that was bred by Tony Nicoli, the guy that I got it from said it was one of the "Fab Five" liter. Very cool little guy.

And last but not least an 07' female that was produced by Steve Volk. Very beatifule little girl.

Well there they are, let me know what you guys think.

Thanks for the reply, hopefully in a few years I will be posting some baby pics. The one male that had a little mouth rot is coming along good. Been treating him with chlorohexadene and it is working wonders. He also had some dry shed on him when he arrived, he just had a nice full shed yesterday and is looking great. Reakky looking forward to keeping these animals, they are so much better tempered than the northern I had.

AWESOME! Congrats. You don't see these around like you used to. Why is that? Are they difficult to keep or did they just fall out of favor??? I always loved these snakes and they were more common a few years back. You don't see them around like you used to.

Not really sure why, I wouldn't say they are difficult to keep, they are just more delicate. You can't slack on husbandry and expect them to thrive.
