Most docile GTP type.

RKS Jun 07, 2009 12:59 AM

Several posts ago, some one asked what the most docile type is. I offer for your consideration a pic of one of my Sorongs. Maternaly incubating with five days to go to hatch day.

Maybe it's the picture but that sorong chondro looks tiny! Sorongs and Aru's are IMO the calmest chondros you will come across! I will be working with high white aru's in the near future!

Going on six years old and her normal weight is pushing 900 grams empty. I guess it's my hand being closer to the lens that makes her look so small. But then Sorongs aren't known to be giants in the world of GTP's. Ever wonder how Al Linder,of fishing fame, gets those 3 pound bass to look like 6 pounders on his tv show or mag?

The interesting thing about most peoples' experience is that it does vary. The most demonic chondro I ever owned was an adult female Aru. She came to me as a sub-adult and would fly out of the cage with mouth open and keep coming. She was nearly impossible to hook. I've also heard the same of Arus from other keepers as well. Biaks are a very close second. lol. But I'll still take either or.

My one Aru is a demon as well. He'll strike at the glass, come out of the cage at you and won't quit. My Sorongs are by far the most docile of my collection.
