If you are asking how many days the ovulation swelling lasts, from what I have seen, it is typically 2 to 4 days.

I appreciate the info kelly, been keeping greens for 8 years but never breed them, although the swelling has been lasting close to two weeks thought maybe she was pregnant but needed more info. I keep my male and female in same enclosure so these things happen. Loved your article on captive breeding greens without large pools in reptiles magazine and kept that article with my library of info. My female is just now reaching breeding age but my male is right at thirteen feet and almost 80 pounds, the largest male i've ever seen though I know your friend jud has a large one too. Got the male (maliki) when he was 4 years old and about 7 feet and have had him for 8 yrs now. I keep retics too but anacondas always been my fave. Well thanx again for the info I appreciate it!

Kelly - Have you ever noticed swelling prior to ovulation, or after ovulation? I definitely noticed two periods of swelling about 10 days apart with my green. She seemed relatively rigid both times . In the second occurrence the swelling and rigidity seemed more extreme. I don't have an explanation for this.

Karl,
I know that some boids will ovulate and release ova from one ovary at a time separated by several days. I have not seen this with any of the ovulating females I have had however. They do always act as you describe when ovulating, and have a very straight and rigid posture for a day or two. I have noticed some slight swelling before and after ovulation, but never is it associated with the straight and rigid posture that is characteristic of ovulation in greens.
