unknown lizard...i think at least a geck

my friend lives in chennai india and this little guy lives with her. i thought it looked gecko-ish. anyone know what it is?

That looks like a run of the mill house gecko. They are as common as anoles in warm areas. There are many different sub species of them, but that looks like one to me.
