I was giving a small (shell is about 2 inches) common snapping turtle about a week ago and it seems all the info i find is on Alligator snappers. so i was wondering if some one could give me some advise on things like habitate set up like how deep the water should be. and also do common snappers bask all the info i have found say that all turtles need to dry off from time to time but he stays in the water all the time. right now i have about 4 inches of water with some larg rocks that he can get on to dry but if they arnt needed i will remove them. also it looks like his shell is peeling is that normal if not what do i need to do with him?
Thanks
Tim

Sounds like you're doing a good job. I would feed him every other day and if you feed him in another container then you won't have to clean the main container quite as often. I give mine mostly chopped up minnows and either reptomin or another pelleted food. Try to keep the water temp close to 80.
