... the animal is just pulling through an RI the cough is very mild and infrequent, will continue to dose with antibiotics through the weekend. It has begun to eat again although not ravenously and has its activity back. However despite a loss of over 1/8 th its body weight and probably some moisture deprivation despite soaks, it has begun to shed its skin. I'm going to have to soak it daily because its not coming off as easily as it usually does! Would'nt have thought there would have been enough body activity in the last month to trigger a shed!

If it is a young/er lizard they shed much more often than an adult. Some other factors can contribute to shedding in lizards that is quite interesting,( not saying this applies to yours) but when they have mites, thier body tries to rid itself of them and will shed frequently. Nature is pretty cool, tries to take care of you

I have had some that are a bit dehydrated begin to shed and it may just shed in small areas at a time, like you say, difficult to come off. I would "mist" with warmish water a couple times a day, and see if that helps.

that a "bad shed" that doesn't come off easily is a sign that somethng else is going on with your collared. You already know yours has been ill, but if you think everything is going good and your lizard has a bad shed, you should check it and watch it carefully for any signs of health problems.

Yep, I agree, whether it be mites, resp infection/bacterial, all stress factors, something is not quite right, his body is not inabling him to function like he normally would/ should.
