I was just wondering which dwarf caiman species has a darker less golden head and if this a reliable means to determine between species other than that what are some other differences between trigonatus palpebrosus. Also i just got the Chris Dieter book in the mail today and couldnt be more thankful on the care info available. -Greg

P. palpebrosus have nice even rows of scales on their backs. The P. trigonatus have very rough uneven rows.

This is a very good website to go to. If you go under the describtion link you will see pictures and even more differeces between the two. Hope this helps. If you any other question just ask. I have a P. palpebrosus and don't mind helping if I can.
