corn snakes, Amelanistic genetics

rhed Jun 20, 2009 03:21 AM

I love albino/amelanistic hybrids jungle corns. I have only female corns so I'm limited in what types of crosses I can do- from what I've read it will be very difficult to use a female corn and a male king. Are there other pairings that can use a female corn to produce colorful albino/ amelanistic snakes? I also have male kings, they're much larger than the female corns...so I really don't think I could pair them.

which amelanistic genes and morphs are compatible?

what would you pair with these:
all female corns: normal, albino, blizzard, butter, creamsicle, lavender?

I'm not quite sure what your asking butthe albino genes in cali kings, corn snakes, and nelson milks are all compatible, meaning you could breed an albino cali king to and another albino cali king, an albino corn, pr a albino nelsons and all he offspring would be albino. I know you asked about the kings and corns but I figured I'd toss that little bit of info about the nelsons also. As long as the male king has been feed prior and and has breeding and not feeding on his mine you should be good. You'll have to get him going though by using a female king. Hope this helps.

I dont think thats quite right with the Nelsoni albino gene, its possible that their is two different albino Nelsoni genes floating around if your saying it does work. the nelsoni genes we have played with do not work with anything we have tried in the F1, so alb nelsoni X alb corn only produces hets for us, the same goes for all other crosses we have tried with the nelsoni Alb gene.

Cheers
