Well, uncooked rice thrown at weddings is a major killer of birds that feed on it. Thats why many churches, etc. only allow bird seed to be thrown. Apparently the birds ingest the uncooked rice which swells dramatically in the stomachs. If you do feed brown rice, I would suggest only COOKED rice. Not really knowing, I personally wouldnt do it for fear of impaction.
From what I have found there is no nutritional benefit of rice for a Uro. I wouldn't risk it

Not flaming anybody, but that is a myth.(see below link)
Rice for uros, is reasonably okay, just not a staple. Variation in diet is a great thing for these guys, just keep in mind the size, and nutritional input of certain foods.
