16 Red Striped Babies!

asnakelovinbabe Jun 26, 2009 10:34 PM

Hey guys,

My larger female rubrilineatus (red striped ribbon snake) just finished giving birth, 16 healthy babies, zero stillborns/jellies. I just looked at her 2 hours ago and she was still fat. I went back in and saw some strange movement... and there they were!!! They look really GREAT and theres one cute baby that has a random bright green splotch on the side of his/her head!!This is really great for me because I had two females and zero males. Looks like I will have a male after all :D

Pictures will come!!!

Congrats. That is awesome. Do you find caring for ribbons more difficult than garters? Do the ribbons eat rodents?

I don't particularly find them any more difficult... but then again I am experienced enough to the point where I just naturally know how to work with them... they are a little flippy but ribbons can actually become very complacent and will accept rodents just as garters do with proper scenting/weaning techniques.
