Sulcata pyramiding

henry62395 Jul 03, 2009 02:15 PM

Today, I adopted (more like rescued) a Sulcata that is about 1 foot long. It has extreme pyramiding on it's shell. I do not know the history of it so I do not know what type of living and eating conditions it has been exposed to. I currently have 2 other sulcatas that I have owned since they were hatchlings. They are on a diet of various grasses and hays as well as cactus. They outside in the Florida sunshine everyday. These two little guys do not show any sign of pyramiding. I guess my question is what can I do (if anything) for the Sulcata I just got? I will put him on the same diet as my other 2 but I wasn't sure if there is anything else I should do. Any suggestions???

the new diet will be just what the tort needs, i dont think it will cure him but it will definately help how old is the tort you rescued, if it is fairly young and has plenty of growing to do the new diet and better conditions will help smooth it out some.
