the original heat lamp on my russsians was 75w but now because i do not have a working 75w bulb i used what i belive to be a 50w(not sure) light and the tortises seem to be more active so te question is, is a 75w bulb to much or is a 50w to little? thank you for reading.

I would say a cool side in the mid 70s with a basking area in the upper 80s to low 90s would be good for indoor housing. The tortoises may just be more active due to longer days of summer telling them time to be more active. If they are feeding well and active, then I would assume they are just fine with the 50W. Apparently russians aestivate if they become too hot.
