when i take it out the tank it keeps one eye shut and one open then just sleeps where ever i put it doesnt move

it also hisses a lot its fine in my hand but if i move my fingers or touch its back it goes nuts with the hissing

hissing is what it does when it doesn't like something. It basically trying to scare you away.

As for it hiding all day, its in a new environment, its going to take awhile to get used to it.

What are your temperatures? (warm end and cool end?) What size of cage do you have, substrate etc?

As for it only eating catfood...what else are you offering it? For my blue tongue skinks I offer mixed chopped greens and mix this in with canned cat food so it has no choice but to eat both. I also give superworms, silkworms and hornworms every couple of days for variety.

Has it been drinking at all? Make sure he has access to fresh water in a shallow dish it can get in and out of easily. Make sure its no more than an inch deep with water, BTS's aren't swimmers and can drown if in water too deep they can't get out of easily.
