STRANGE shaped egg

PHEve Jul 10, 2009 07:32 PM

My flashy patterned NM mountain girl Mesa layed 4 big eggs today, looked like the size of C. vestigium eggs, very elongated/oval. Anyway the fourth was mis-shaped, like goose-necked at the end, almost like she squeezed it shut as it came out and the end stayed like that.
Weird they are about 14 hours old now, that egg looks fertile, I'm wondering if the baby would grow in the area that is fine, or if it will die / egg will fail.

Anyone ever have one like this? All my years I never have.
It's the last one bottom right. No it is not covered in vermic on one side that is the way it looks. I uncovered them all so you can see what I mean.

I had two eggs that were conjoined and they hatched with no problems but i've never had some like that though.

Or do you think it was formed that way? You know, the way my NM girls eat, even right up to laying, I wonder where they put everything! Does she eat like that? Maybe that egg just didn't have quite enough room inside.

Well, you must keep us posted on that one. I got eggs today, too. Both of my WT girls are laying, and in the same hole! LOL!

Don't think so it already feels firm on that narrow end. But feels full and fertile everywhere else. have to see. Just thought it strage. Shes not a big girl, maybe thats why it happened , becuase these eggs are pretty huge for C. collaris eggs. Maybe she just did not have the room, don't know. Shes not a chunky girl, more long and slender.

Hahaha on the more eggs Donna, I have to fire up a second incubator now.

Anyway, hope the weird egg will be okay. Time will tell.

That NM girl looks like she has a starlit night on her back! Awsome! Her colors are so vivid...as if she were under a blacklight. VERRRY pretty!

Thanks Maureen, yeah Mesa is unique or as I say FLASHY for a montane/mountain girl, most are a more dull color with no pattern, she must have invited a patterned boy home one day, lol

Here is another less color mountain girl but just ADORABLE, her name is Willow, she reminds me of the color of a pussy willow flower. I think her face is so cute I like them

She is just as beautiful and very delicate, but what a contrast! A very apt name, I might add...

She really s a cutie.

My sonorans were a pretty light tannish brown with yellowy here and there, this girl is more white/light gray,

Really is like looking at a bunch of pussy willows, that color they have, the darkish gray and then highlighted with the white gray, well shes the white gray , very attractive I think. LOL understand that description, lol
