I have read about this and it is apparently normal.

Looks like viable turtle eggs to me. Not snapper eggs, either (those are usually rounder). Give them about 2 months to hatch. Turtles have been laying in Maryland for weeks now.

Thanks for the reply! I'd bet they are painted turtle eggs.
Striping like this is common? Ive only bred king snakes before so this is my first turtle egg experience.
I don't have much experience with turtle eggs, and none with snake eggs or lizard eggs, but "chalking up" is normal in viable turtle eggs, either the whole egg or just the center. The few eggs I've had I've kept on vermiculite.
