Some on brought me a tokay yesterday. He is about 10 inches long nose to tail, and has decent body weight. He appears to have large swollen areas just behind both ears. Swelling is about the size of a average jelly bean. Both sides appear the same in both size and shape. Ear infection?
His tank smelled bad..it was a sand bottom but smelled like outside sand or beach sand not sterile sand. Tiny water bowl and side of the tank heater.
So now he has a bark and moss combo bottom and a big water bowl to bring up his humidity and better heat. I have seen him drink and alot of crickets seem to be gone this morning. He is sticking to the glass and is fiesty.
So any ideas on what the swelling is and can I use baytril injections on a tokay ? I will be taking this problem up with my vet on monday so no real worries but I would appreciate your input anyway.
Thanks
