New gecko hobbyist

boricua57 Jul 12, 2009 10:23 AM

Folks, I'm new to this hobby and need some guidance. My son and I are about to get a leopard gecko and although we already have some supplies, some advice from the veterans out there won't hurt. We already have a 25-gallon (maybe 30-gallon) fish tank for our terrarium, a cage carpet, hiding place, thermomether and a water plate. Eventually we would like to have a peacock day gecko, gold dust day gecko, neon day gecko or any similar species. Do anybody know reliable breeders who have these day geckos? Thanks in advance for any help, tip or suggestions you can give!

You probably already know since you're apparently doing the research for your lizard before you actually acquire it (not many people do that!), but don't expect to keep the day geckos with the leopard gecko--much different requirements between the two types.

Thanks Chris for the advice. I'll take it into account.

I would suggest looking at the Leopard gecko forum and reading and/or post questions on there, though you seem to have it under control

I'm not familiar with day gecko so i can't help you there, but there is a day gecko forum as well, they are gorgeous geckos!
