Where to find care info?

cassity Jul 13, 2009 02:56 PM

Hey,

I recently attended a local herp show and my boyfriend and I fell in love with a leachie... no we didn't buy it.

Neither of us has ever kept geckos before, and we are wanting to find out the care requirements for the giant leachies to see if this is something we could do.

If you could point us in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rhacodactylus: The Complete Guide to their selection and Care by Philippe de Vosjoli, Frank Fast and Allen Repashy is probably the best book to get about care info on Leachies and all other species of Rhac's (ie crested geckos, gargoyle geckos and others).

For the most part their care is similar to crested geckos but they do need a larger enclosure, prefer 'tube' type hides and can eat the same superfood meal replacement diet (just get the Leachie diet, instead of the crested gecko...pretty sure a separate diet is still available for leachies). For more care info, google Rhacodactylus leachianus and you will find several good sites with care info.
